Bring on the BLING

I love me some BLING!!! I'm easily distracted by sparkly things and I have been known to stop and wander off when I see something. What I really like is that pop of Bling that a nice piece of jewelry can bring to an outfit or just to your day!! I personally always wear something with a bit of Bling.

However today's piece that one that is a bit over the top however I'm sure I would be able to find all sorts of things to wear it with.

Oh so sparkly

Not the best pic...but it give you an idea :)

Here is a look of the bracelet from the side, there is part that is just clear beads this helps with comfort and also provides you with some different options.

How it looks on...its Large and Sparkly!
So is this something you would wear? If so where would you wear it?

Thanks ~k

Earring...are they wonderful or what??

In this quest of mine to stay motivated and to make something everyday I though no better time to start than today!!

I was in my work room, because it really is a work room!! I work from home and make my jewelry in the same room and I really need to make that space a bit more me friendly!! Right now I have a little bit of everything everywhere! Not good!! So need to organize that room better!! That is my project next week. Set up my space to actually get and keep me working and motivated!!

That didn't stop me from making a few pairs of earring.

Let me know what you think :)
Pretty Green Jade with some clear/gold beads give these a pretty look

Hard to tell in the picture, but these are nice and simple Bright silver with a brushed silver disk over it. Nice two tone in silver.

These are pretty ice blue crackle beads with just a silver swirl on the bottom. Not very long but pretty.

So these are just a few fun things I've made. If you have any suggestions please send them my way!!

Thanks ~k

Year End Wrap Up - New Year Challege

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

It is at this time of year that makes a person step back and look at the past year and what is coming up in the new year. So here is wrap up~

~ Finally started making jewelry again. I had taken some time off because I just wasn't very inspired and nothing I made really appealed to me.
~ Realized that I need to make sure to do things that I like to do. Its what really keep me motivated to do more and be more
~ Discovered YouTube has LOTS of great video's on how to do things. Oh yea I've been learning!!!

So it was a good year, a rebuilding year really for me personally and I'm happy with where I am.

Like everything where is that I need to improve? I like everyone have the basic's, lose weight, eat better, exercise more. However I thought what can I do really feed my passion?? So what I thought I would do is challenge myself to a year of being creative!!

Here is my personal challenge!

I will make jewelry everyday!! You heard that right!! I will make a new piece everyday! I will take pictures and post them as well so everyone can see them and please comment about what you like and what you don't like!!

Every Month I will give away one piece!! To qualify you need to post a comment on any piece that speaks to you in anyway!! The more comments you leave the better your chances!! I will contact you by email!

What are your goals for this coming year? Please feel free to share!!

Happy New Year!!!

Holiday Time - Guy Gift Giving Idea's

Happy Holidays!!

I know that many of you have been out and about shopping for those great deals!! What I found this year is that I didn't need anything. Strange to thinking that there was nothing that I felt the need to rush out and buy. Yes there were some great deals to be had and Yes I did go shopping, just doesn't feel the like the holidays if I don't go. However I went to basically be a part of it. I go with my sister-in-law and we have a plan of attack! It was great however it got me thinking of what am giving as gifts this year?

I love giving gifts and I like giving gifts where the person knows that I was thinking of them and I try to make them special. So I thought I would share some homemade gift for that hard to shop for person or the person that has everything.

Great Guy Gift Ideas
~Most guys I know love their car/truck so I like to give a car wash gift pack.
        1. Car wash gift certificate
        2. Car freshener
        3. Car wash
        4. Car wax
        5. Sponge
Put everything in a bucket and your all set. They can go and get their car washed in the winter and then have the supplies they need for washing it when the weather gets warmer.

~ New Driver Gift
        1. Gas Card
        2. Jumper cables (if they don't already have them)
        3. Car emergency Kit
        4. CD with your favorite tunes on it
        5. Flashlight
        6. Car cell phone charger
Wrap these in a blanket that can be kept in the car so if they do have car trouble they will stay warm.

Now there are guys who aren't into the whole car thing so use your imagination!

~Smoker's Kit
       1. Pack of smokers brand
       2. Lighters
       3. Small bottle of FeBreze (hey we have to smell them )
       4. Gum (fresh breath can't be beat)
I like to put these in a cigar box, makes it easy wrap and also provides them with a place to keep their things.

~ Hunter
      1. Hand warmers
      2. Gift card to Gander Mountian (or place they buy hunting supplies from)
      3. Lighted hat
      4. Flash Light for tracking blood
      5. Trail Mix
      6. Hunting Magazine
If you can find a camo lunch box or back pack they will love it!!!

~Gamer
     1. Gift card for the system they are on
     2. Blanket to wrap up in for the long gaming sessions
     3. Headphones so you don't have to hear them

So this blog didn't have any jewelry tips or anything in it but stay tuned! I will be adding idea's for the girls in you life as well.

Enjoy the Holiday season :)

Finding my Inspiration

Well its been a long year with lots of things happening personally and I have found that I haven't been creative. Can't even think about anything cool to make so I haven't been making any new pieces, that is until about a month ago.
This got me thinking, what can I do to get my mojo back?

Well the first thing I did was look at what I have already made and sold or given to people. I asked for feedback on the items that people have, what do they like and what don't they like. That helped me decide what materials to keep working with and things I should stop using.

I then went and started looking around on the web for what other people are making and what I see in magazines and what would I like to buy. Let me tell you there is a ton out there and very many talented people, so if you like pieces that aren't like what everyone is wearing then always go with items that are hand made.

So that helped get those creative juices start flowing!!  Then it was what do I have on hand to make the cool things I'm thinking of, well like everyone I always seem to be missing something to I would have to be inventive.

However what I also found is just because I love jewelry and I really do love making it! I found that I also like making other things as well. So I've been making a blanket and dish clothes as well. I love being able to give people items they will use for a gift.

I encourage you to go and get your Craft on

Being a good buyer

So this past week I learned a very good lesson that I thought I would share. That is that when buying anything on-line its important to read what your buying and what your not buying. Now I don't usually have this problem as I read everything to make sure I'm getting what I expect to get, however when buying services its different.
I love Etsy!! I love that people are selling their creativity and their skills. Its a wonderful place and I use it to sell and buy items. I recently purchased some design work from a fellow esty-ian and I made the mistake of not reading what I was buying carefully enough. I though I was going to get a custom etsy banner based on the custom logo that I had already purchased. Seems simple enough how ever what I missed was that is was based on a predetermine format. So when the final product was delivered it wasn't what I thought it would be and I really didn't care for it. It was not something I would use and over all just not my thing. I expressed my dislike and we canceled the transaction. I will not name who it was as I have great respect and still love their work.
So basically what did I learn and share to make buying better?
1. Don't purchase until after I ask all my questions.
2. If what you get doesn't meet your exception's be respectful when dealing with the seller, they want to work with you to resolve it.
3. When asking for custom work the information you supply the better.
4. Proof read everything more than once before sign off on the transaction.

Of course we all make mistakes and some mistakes can be avoided but above all respect those that are selling their services or wares.

Happy shopping to all and remember read what your buying before you purchase!

Storage from the Hardware Store

Happy belated Mothers Day to everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I recently needed some more storage for all my supplies. I looked at what was being offered by some of the on-line supply stores and was thinking that there is no way I was going to pay 40.00 for plastic. So when my son mentioned that my bead box looked just like his fishing box(and why was I using it) It got me thinking that there has to be other items out on the market that I can use. So a nice chat with the hubby and he said...oh yea but it won't be pretty and purple(my fav color)
I have to say I'm impressed with the storage containers I picked up at Harbor Freight and I'm thrilled that they only cost 7.95 each (the ones I bought were on clearance and I can't pass up that great of a deal)
So that is one version that I picked up that is still availbe. Now I can see what I have in the containers and it makes pulling out just what I'm going to use a lot easier.

So if you are looking for great storage idea's.....and saving money at the same time, check out your local hardware store. It's sure to have something you can use!

Happy crafting....
